Developed by Boutell.Com, privately-held small business founded by Thomas Boutell and located in Philadelphia, Mapedit is an imagemap editing tool that can be used on a Windows, Mac OS X, or a UNIX-powered machine. Get the application and use it to add client-side imagemaps to the webpage of your choosing.

The Mapedit installation file for Windows weighs in at 1MB, which means it will take but a moment to get it off the web and onto your computer, even if you have to content with a lousy internet connection. The same can be said about installing it on your Windows-powered PC (that would be anything from Windows 7 down to Windows 98). A simple setup wizard will guide you through the installation process; it’s all a simple and straightforward matter that will take little of your time.

Launch the Mapedit application and it will literally ask you what you want to do. The “What do you want to do?” prompt invites you to Open A Webpage, meaning you can add an imagemap to an existing webpage or edit an imagemap that you previously saved, and it also invites you to Open An Image, meaning you can create a page that contains the image of your choosing and an imagemap.

Mapedit, with the functionality it has to offer, is ideally suited for those looking for an efficient and user friendly tool to meet their imagemap editing needs. Get the application, use it on whatever platform you want, either Windows, Mac OS X or Unix, and add client-side imagemaps to your webpages. It’s all a fairly simple process that can be summed up like this: open the page, select the image, draw. Don’t take my word for it, get the application and see for yourself. Please note that you will be able to evaluate Mapedit’s functionality free of charge for a trial period of 30 days.

Mapedit is just a powerful and user friendly imagemap editing program for Windows, Mac, and Unix.

Pros
